Last night I attended a "training" session for Soccer Coaches, it was the 3 or 4Th session like this I'd been to in our local youth sports association. I was amazed to look around the room and realize how many of the other coaches I know fairly well but also how many faces were very familiar. The camaraderie of the group struck me and after the meeting, I heard several of the coaches talking about how glad they will be when the season starts. The reason being that they miss seeing each other and the interaction practices, scrimmages and games bring!
That struck a chord with me because, that type of interaction is to me the most valuable thing about my involvement in CAD. As a father, I find it invaluable to have a group of fellow Dads who I can get share concerns with and get near immediate feedback and support.
Being a Dad, is a tremendous responsibility and one that I take seriously. It isn't the easiest task you'll face in life and certainly not one that will ease over time. Its an ongoing process, to learn, live and grow as a man to become the "Dad" you want to be.
CAD is a resource that you can lean on! I don't recall exactly who said it, but I do recall a quote that has stuck with me:
'Knowledge is only gained by experience! ...the wise man will learn from anothers!'
I've sure learned a lot from my experiences and thankfully as a member of CAD I've learned from others and not had to endure some experiences to learn of their consequences.
